The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium is actively cooperating with local partners to popularize Turkmenistan's initiative to declare 2025 the International Year of Peace and Trust. This initiative underlines the country's desire to promote ideas of peace, stability and cooperation at the global level, the press service of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium reports.
One of the striking examples of such cooperation was the participation of Derya Soysal, a member of the Belgian Institute of Diplomatic World and an independent environmental expert specializing in the history and geography of Central Asia.
With the assistance of the Embassy of Turkmenistan, she recorded a video for various media platforms, including Eureporter, dedicated to the announcement of 2025 as the Year of International Peace and Trust.
In her speech, Derya Soysal emphasized that Turkmenistan has consistently positioned itself as a neutral and peace-loving state actor since its independence in 1991, promoting regional stability through peace initiatives. The full video is available on the Bruxelles Korner platform, an online news platform in French and Turkish based in Brussels, covering a wide range of topics from politics to culture and art.
Also, thanks to cooperation with the Turkmen Embassy, Derya Soysal continues to actively promote Turkmenistan's foreign policy. She recently took part in an online conference organized by the European Union jointly with the Free University of Brussels and Kocaeli University, where she delivered a report on “Europe's Growing Interest in Gas-Rich Turkmenistan: Cooperation and Prospects for the Development of Relations between Europe and Turkmenistan”.
