Turkmen racers have successfully started the international rally-marathon "Silk Way - 2025", taking the entire podium in the T2 off-road category following the results of the first stage, the press service of the competition organizers reports.
The 34,87 km prologue that started on Saturday in Irkutsk (Russia) included an 8 km special stage. The best result was shown by the crew of Meylis Abdullayev from the team of the Automobile Sports Federation of Turkmenistan, who covered the distance in 5 minutes 50 seconds.
"The prologue went great, there were no obstacles. The track is quite short, but fast. I liked the jump," commented the result racer Maksatmyrat Danatarov, who took second place with a lag of 1 minute 25 seconds.
Merdan Toylyev finished third in the T2 standings, 1 minute 43 seconds behind the winner.
In the second stage, which will take place on Sunday between Irkutsk and Baikalsk, the crews will set off along a route of 256,2 km with a special section of 52,31 km.
The "Silk Way" rally marathon started on July 12 in Irkutsk and will end on July 22 in Gorno-Altaisk. The total length of the route is about 5 thousand kilometers across Russia and Mongolia.
It is worth noting that the sponsors of the Turkmen crews at the international rally-marathon "Silk Way" were the companies "Aýdyň Gijeler", "Arçalyk", "Belli", "Kroon-Oil" and "Ýüpekçi".
