A Thai woman named Usa found a plastic box near a garbage container containing 12 million baht (367 478 USD). The woman immediately reported the find to the police, and the money was handed over to the police station for safekeeping.
According to Usa, she noticed the box near the elevator and decided to take it for household needs, but inside she found bundles of 1000 baht bills hidden under sportswear. It was later revealed that the owner of the money was a neighbor in the condominium, who accidentally threw away the box, thinking it was only old clothes. The man said he accumulated the funds legally while working as a lawyer and withdrew them from a bank account back in 2020. Police are investigating his explanation.
