The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission, which reviewed the results of activities in the field of human rights and international humanitarian law for 2024. Particular attention was paid to the implementation of national action plans on human rights, gender equality and children's rights. This was reported by the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Health, as well as the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan and heads of public organizations. The participants emphasized that the protection of the legitimate interests of citizens remains a priority area of the country's state policy.
During the meeting, cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross and the implementation of three important national plans were discussed: on human rights for 2021-2025, on gender equality for 2021-2025, and on children's rights for 2023-2028.
The Commission noted the importance of increasing the legal literacy of the population and expanding access to legal information. It was also emphasized that the legislation of Turkmenistan continues to be improved taking into account national experience and international legal norms.
