The volume of trade between Turkmenistan and Turkey reached 2.166 billion US dollars in 2024, Turkish Ambassador to Ashgabat Ahmet Demirok said at a press conference.
“Turkey remains one of Turkmenistan’s largest trade partners. Although the current trade turnover is significant, we see potential for its significant growth and aim to reach $5 billion,” the diplomat said.
According to the ambassador, Turkish companies have implemented many large infrastructure projects in Turkmenistan, including power plants, highways, residential complexes, shopping centers, educational institutions and other facilities. In 2024, Turkish contractors received new projects worth $216 million. The implementation of 25 projects worth $4 billion is currently ongoing.
Demirok expressed hope for the participation of Turkish companies in the construction of the second stage of the Arkadag smart city. He also announced that the “Turkmen Export Goods Exhibition” will be held in Turkey in 2025, which is intended to promote further development of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
“Our relations with Turkmenistan are developing on the basis of mutual respect in all areas. Turkish companies perform high-quality work and share their experience with Turkmen partners,” the ambassador emphasized.
