India is ready to create training programs for Turkmen civil servants in the oil and gas sector

India is ready to create specialized training programs for Turkmen civil servants in key economic sectors. Indian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Bandaru Wilsonbabu announced this to journalists on the sidelines of an event celebrating ITEC Day, India's technical and economic cooperation program.

"We can develop specialized curricula, special training programs—primarily for Turkmen civil servants. These could cover specialized areas such as oil and gas, chemical fertilizers, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, education, or any other field," the diplomat said.

According to him, the ITEC program has been running since 1964 and has brought together more than 225,000 government officials from 160 countries. Training is provided at over 120 leading educational institutions in India. Turkmenistan is an active participant in the program: over 500 Turkmen government officials and approximately 100 military personnel have already participated, and over 200 students have received higher education with full funding from the Indian government.

The ambassador also noted the Turkmen public's keen interest in Indian culture—film, dance, music, yoga, Ayurveda, and the Hindi language. "There is a yoga and traditional medicine center at the Ashgabat city administration. In January, we opened a Hindi corner at the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages, as well as an Ayurveda clinic at the M. Garryev Turkmen State Medical University," he added.

According to Wilsonbabu, Indian specialists are planned to be sent to Ashgabat in the near future to teach Hindi and Ayurveda.
