Customs services of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan have launched an electronic exchange of preliminary information

Since August, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan have established an electronic exchange of preliminary information on goods and vehicles transported between the two countries. This was reported on the website of the Turkmenistan Customs Service.

The exchange is carried out through the information systems of the customs authorities of the two countries in accordance with the current interdepartmental agreement and technical conditions for information interaction.

This information exchange allows customs authorities to be informed about goods and vehicles before they arrive at the border, allowing them to analyze the information in advance and prepare for the necessary customs operations. This reduces the time required to complete customs procedures, speeds up the movement of goods across the border, reduces the volume of paperwork, and increases the predictability of international shipments, the source notes.
