Nurmagomedov knocked out Colgan and retained his PFL title

Russian mixed martial artist (MMA) Usman Nurmagomedov defeated American Archie Colgan via first-round technical knockout to retain his Professional Fighters League (PFL) lightweight title. The fight took place in New York City.

According to championat.com, the 28-year-old Russian defended his lightweight (70 kg) championship belt for the second consecutive time. This victory marked Nurmagomedov's 22nd professional mixed martial arts record – he now has 22 wins, 16 of which were achieved by stoppage, no losses, and one no contest.

The Russian's opponent, 30-year-old Kolgan, suffered his first defeat in his professional career – he still has 15 wins, 14 of which were achieved ahead of schedule.

Usman Nurmagomedov is the cousin of UFC Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov. According to media reports, this fight was the Russian's final one under his current PFL contract, sparking speculation about a potential move to the UFC.
