The first direct block train, dubbed the "Slavic Caravan," began operating between Belarus and Uzbekistan. This was announced by the press service of JSC “Uzbekistan Railways” on July 30.

An agreement to establish regular block train service between the two countries was reached during Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's state visit to Belarus on July 9.

The first train departed on July 30 from Orsha-Vostochnaya station in Belarus bound for Chukursay station in Uzbekistan. The train, which has a nominal length of 71 cars, carries wood products, sugar, food products, animal feed, and other cargo. Initially, the train will operate twice a month.

The launch of the new rail service is expected to increase freight volumes between the countries, strengthen transport and logistics ties, and expand trade and economic cooperation.

“Uzbekistan Railways” also noted that its subsidiary, “UztemirYulKonteyner”, is ready to provide a full range of transport and logistics services for import and export cargo on this route, ensuring customers a reliable service in the field of international transportation.
