Uzbekistan striker Eldor Shomurodov's goal, scored at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, took second place in the fan vote for the tournament's best goal, according to the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) website.

First place went to Cape Verde defender Sidney Lopes Cabral, who scored against Argentina in the round of 1/16. His goal in the 103rd minute allowed the Cape Verdeans to tie the game at 2-2, but they lost 3-2 in extra time.

Haitian national team striker Wilson Isidore took third place in the voting.

Shomurodov's goal was scored in the third-round group stage match against the Democratic Republic of Congo, which the Uzbek team lost 3-1, ending their tournament without a point. The team captain scored from an acute angle in the 10th minute, chipping the ball over the goalkeeper. This goal was named the best of the group stage.

FIFA shortlisted 12 goals for the award, with the winner determined by a 48-hour fan vote. In addition to Cabral, Shomurodov and Izidor, the nominees included Elijah Just (New Zealand), Kylian Mbappe (France), Lionel Messi (Argentina), Kerim Alajbegovic (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Daizen Maeda (Japan), Erling Haaland (Norway), Julian Alvarez (Argentina), Jude Bellingham (England) and Ferran Torres (Spain), whose winning goal in the final helped Spain beat Argentina 1-0 in extra time.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup concluded on July 19. The tournament, for the first time, featured 48 national teams across three countries—the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Spain emerged victorious.
