The Basketball Federation of Turkmenistan launched an official website

The Basketball Federation of Turkmenistan (BFT) has launched an official website – tkm.basketball. Bahtiyar Ibragimov, BFT Technical Director, announced the launch.

According to him, the new resource was created so that fans, players, and coaches could receive information about competitions, rosters, and the performance results of the country's national teams, as well as follow the federation's news.

Ibragimov clarified that the site is currently operating in test mode, and work on filling and refining the resource will continue in the near future.

According to information posted on the website, the Basketball Federation of Turkmenistan was founded in 1992 and unites more than 500 registered players and 36 regional clubs. Over 100 tournaments are held under its auspices annually. The organization is a member of the National Olympic Committee of Turkmenistan, and since 1998, a member of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and is recognized as the only organization authorized to govern this sport in the country.

The chairman of the federation is Muhammet Sahedov, his deputies are Valery Sitnikov and Serdar Handovletov, and the general secretary is Ahmet Kiyathanov.

Among the achievements of Turkmen basketball players on the international arena are the silver medal of the men's 3x3 basketball team at the 2012 Asian Beach Games in Haiyang (China), the bronze medal of the women's team at the 2013 Asian 3x3 Basketball Championship in Doha (Qatar), and the bronze medal of the women's 3x3 basketball team at the 5th Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat in 2017.
