Ashgabat Zoo has become a center of attraction for families during school holidays

During school holidays, the National Museum of Wildlife of Turkmenistan (Ashgabat Zoo) traditionally becomes one of the key centers for family leisure and cultural and educational recreation. Hundreds of residents of Ashgabat and Arkadag, as well as guests from all over the country, visit the scientific and educational complex daily. For young Turkmen citizens, such excursions serve as an important element of environmental education, allowing them to visually explore the diversity of global and domestic fauna, reports the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper.

The modern zoological complex is located in the foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains and meets international animal welfare standards. The landscaped grounds feature spacious enclosures and natural ecosystems for hundreds of rare and exotic animal species, according to the statement.

The newspaper writes that visitors are particularly interested in the section dedicated to Ahal-Teke horses, the pride of the Turkmen people. Large predators, including lions, and the extensive ornithological collection also draw attention. The museum combines the functions of a leisure center and an open-air educational platform, fostering interest in natural sciences and a caring attitude toward nature among the younger generation.
