The Embassy of Turkmenistan to the United States, together with the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN, held a series of events in Washington, D.C., commemorating the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence and the 250th anniversary of the United States' independence. This was reported by the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

The central event was the roundtable discussion "Turkmenistan-USA Partnership: Celebrating Independence, Friendship, and a Common Future," where participants discussed the current state and prospects of political, economic, educational, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries.

Turkmenistan's Ambassador to the United States, Esen Aydogdyev, and Turkmenistan's Permanent Representative to the UN, Vepa Hajiyev, discussed the development of bilateral relations and the countries' interactions in international and multilateral formats.

The American side was represented by Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Central Asia Mark Cameron and former US Ambassador to Turkmenistan Matthew Klimov. They praised the dynamics of Turkmen-American relations and noted the significant potential for expanding cooperation.

The event was attended by representatives of the US State Department, the diplomatic corps, academic and think tanks, business circles, and members of the Turkmen diaspora.

The program included a cultural exhibition featuring works of Turkmen arts and crafts, national clothing, books, and printed publications. A friendly chess tournament was also held, with the winners receiving medals, certificates, and souvenirs.

The series of events concluded with a friendly football match, after which participants received commemorative souvenirs.
