Turkmenistan has established stable exports of finished liquid petroleum products to countries in Asia and Europe thanks to the launch of new refining facilities. This was announced by Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, speaking at the Georgian-Turkmen business forum in Tbilisi, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
"New hydrocarbon processing capacities have been commissioned. Finished liquid petroleum products are now being exported reliably to countries in Asia and Europe," the statement reads.
The President noted that the current forum is intended to promote the development of bilateral trade, economic, and investment cooperation.
Speaking about the economic development of Turkmenistan, he recalled that at the beginning of 2026, the country approved an Investment Program, the main goal of which is to maintain GDP growth rates at 6,3%.
According to Serdar Berdimuhamedov, further development of the fuel and energy sector remains a key focus. Specifically, Turkmenistan has begun the fourth stage of commercial development of the "Galkynyş" gas field, one of the largest in the world.
The most important area, he added, remains the development of hydrocarbon resources in the Caspian Sea, in connection with which the country is consistently developing strategic partnerships with foreign oil and gas companies.
The President also reported that, thanks to the construction of plants for the production of mineral fertilizers, polymers, and other chemical products in demand on global markets, Turkmenistan has achieved intensive industrial growth in the gas chemical industry.
