The Uzbekistan national football team lost to Team Canada in a friendly match in preparation for the World Cup.

The match took place in Edmonton and ended 2-0 in favor of the hosts. Jonathan Osorio (58th minute) and Jayden Nelson (90+1) scored for the winners.

Uzbekistan will play its next friendly match before the 2026 World Cup on June 8, away against the Netherlands. Canada will host Ireland on June 6.

The World Cup will be held from June 11 to July 19 in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. In the group stage, Uzbekistan (group K) will face Portugal, DR Congo, and Colombia. Canada will face Switzerland, Qatar, and Bosnia and Herzegovina in group B.

Uzbekistan has qualified for the World Cup for the first time in its history.
