The Central Asian-Japanese Leaders' Summit will be held in Astana in 2027

Kazakhstan will host the second summit of the heads of state of Central Asia and Japan in 2027. This was announced by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at a meeting with Yasutoshi Nishimura, Chairman of the Japan Parliamentary Friendship League with Kazakhstan.

"The next summit of Central Asian and Japanese leaders will be held in Astana in 2027. Preparations for this event have already begun," Tokayev said, as quoted by Tengrinews.kz.

During the meeting, the head of Kazakhstan awarded Nishimura the Order of “Dostyk”, 1st Class, for his contribution to strengthening Kazakh-Japanese cooperation and interparliamentary ties.

The first Central Asia–Japan summit was held in Tokyo in 2025.
