Turkmenistan intends to develop cooperation with China in the gas sector

Turkmenistan intends to develop cooperation with China in the gas industry, including in the supply of machinery and equipment, as well as in the digitalization of production processes. This was announced by Murat Archayev, Deputy Chairman of the Turkmengaz State Concern, at the Turkmen-Chinese Forum in Ashgabat.

"I'd like to specifically highlight areas of practical importance for a wide range of Chinese companies. These include the supply of machinery, equipment, and materials for our concern's manufacturing facilities," he said.

Archayev noted that Chinese manufacturers are already playing a significant role in the concern's projects. He cited the construction of the Afghan section of the TAPI gas pipeline as an example, which involves over 200 units of specialized construction equipment, much of which was supplied by Chinese manufacturers.

"This experience demonstrates that Chinese technology operates successfully under the most demanding conditions of Turkmen projects," the deputy head of the concern emphasized.

According to him, promising areas of cooperation include the supply of heavy construction and earthmoving equipment, drilling equipment and blowout prevention systems, large-diameter tubular products for main gas pipelines, process equipment for gas preparation and processing facilities, as well as welding and insulating materials.

"We invite Chinese companies to actively participate in tenders," Archayev said.

He also pointed to the significant potential for cooperation in digitalization, including real-time well monitoring systems, automated control systems, and integrated field management platforms.

"We are open to pilot implementations and replication of successful solutions," added the deputy head of Turkmengaz.
