A new modern market will be built in the Farap district of the Lebap velayat. President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved the corresponding proposal from the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations, instructing Deputy Prime Minister Nokerguly Atagulyev to carry out the necessary work. The decision was made following an off-site government meeting, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.

During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister reported on the state of the region's trade sector. According to him, enterprises under the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations, as well as entities of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, provide the population with essential goods. Overall, there are 860 trade, manufacturing, and catering establishments operating in the velayat under the ministry's jurisdiction.

At the same time, the retail sector's infrastructure is being modernized: modern shopping centers, stores, and markets are being commissioned, and the reach of e-commerce and courier delivery services is expanding.

The Lebap velayat is home to six manufacturing plants operated by the Ministry of Textile Industry and five specialized textile stores. The Halach district is home to the “Türkmenhaly” Artistic Carpet Weaving Association and its four workshops. Additionally, the region is home to 79 manufacturing, trade, and service enterprises owned by members of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

Within the framework of the presidential program, 12 private manufacturing facilities are planned for the velayat, creating 311 new jobs.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the need for continuous monitoring of the domestic market's supply of food and consumer goods and set the goal of further expanding the range of trade services available to residents of the Lebap velayat.
