On April 9, the opening ceremony of the 3rd International Mathematical Olympiad for schoolchildren was held at Magtymguly Turkmen State University.
The Olympiad is attended by 170 students from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Federation, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Türkiye, and Turkmenistan.
The competition jury chair, O. Annaorazov, PhD in Physics and Mathematics and Associate Professor at Tomsk State University, delivered a welcoming speech and wished the Olympiad participants great success.
He also noted that the Olympiad is planned to be held in levels A and B, with level A open to students aged 15,5 and under and 20 years old, and level B to students aged 15,5 and under.
Following the opening ceremony, international students visited the sights of the Turkmen capital.
The Olympiad will run until April 11.
