President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov invited the heads of state of Central Asia and the Chairman of the People's Republic of China to participate in the International Forum of Peace and Trust, which will be held in Ashgabat on December 12.
“I hope for the continuation of an interested dialogue between our states on the most important topics of the modern world order, on ways to solve existing global problems, achieve agreement and understanding in the global arena during the major International Forum scheduled for December of this year in Ashgabat, dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, International Day of Neutrality and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality. “I have the honor to respectfully invite all heads of state to participate in this significant event,” the State News Agency of Turkmenistan quotes the head of Turkmenistan as saying.
As Serdar Berdimuhamedov reminded, by decision of the UN General Assembly, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, 2025 was declared the “International Year of Peace and Trust”.
The head of Turkmenistan also expressed the country's firm commitment to close cooperation in the “Central Asia-China” format and confidence in its enormous potential for joint development, peace and prosperity of the peoples of the region. He thanked Secretary General of the Secretariat of the “Central Asia-China” format Sun Weidong for his contribution to the successful holding of the summit.
The second “Central Asia-China” summit was held on June 17 in Astana. The event was attended by Chinese President Xi Jinping and the heads of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The first summit in this format was held in 2023 in Xi'an, China.
