Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will pay an official visit to Ashgabat at the end of June, Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ivan Volynkin announced during a formal reception on the occasion of Russia Day.
"At the moment, active preparations are underway for the official visit to Turkmenistan of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. We expect that Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov will visit Ashgabat already at the end of June," the diplomat said.
Volynkin emphasized that regular dialogue between the parties is the most important factor in the development of the entire complex of interstate relations between Russia and Turkmenistan. "Together, we will continue to move toward new horizons," the ambassador added.
A gala reception to mark Russia Day was held on Wednesday in Ashgabat at the “Yyldyz hotel”. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Hojamyrat Geldimyradov took part in the event from the Turkmen side.
