The award ceremony for the winners of the International Competition “The Most Beautiful Ahal-Teke Horse of the Year” was held at the Aba Annayev International Horse Breeding Academy in the city of Arkadag with the participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. The event was the culmination of the celebrations dedicated to the National Day of the Turkmen Horse, TDH reports.
Ten Akhal-Teke horses of elite breeding lines reached the final of the competition following the preliminary selection rounds. The finalists included horses of various colors: black Garaduman, dark bay Janlygara and Perendagly, bay Melegush, Patrak, Meydanly, Gozbash, Vatanchy, as well as bay Pyakhimli and Kerven.
According to the decision of the international panel of judges, the winner of the 2025 competition was the bay horse Melegush, born in 2020, belonging to the line of the famous racehorse Gyrsakar and a descendant of the famous Akhal-Teke horses Gerden and Tugly.
On behalf of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the owner of the winner was presented with the main prize – the keys to a Toyota Camry, as well as a challenge Cup and an honorary diploma.
