The "Turkmendenizderyayollary" Agency intends to begin construction of two RoRo railway ferries and one dry cargo ship within the framework of the implementation of the Agreements on financing the construction of ships for the marine fleet of Turkmenistan, signed with the Islamic Development Bank and the OPEC Fund.

In this regard, a tender has been announced for the design, supply and construction management of two RoRo rail ferries and one dry cargo vessel.

The project is intended to promote sustainable growth of maritime transport and increase the sector’s contribution to the economy within the framework of Turkmenistan’s overall development strategy.

The construction of the ships will be carried out at the Balkan plant, which will create new jobs, improve the qualifications of Turkmen engineers and workers, and create conditions for the further development of the industry, reports "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

Earlier we reported that two Ro-Ro ferries and a dry cargo ship would be built at a plant in Turkmenistan.
