The first 10G broadband network has been launched in the Xiong’an district of the Chinese province of Hebei. The project was implemented through the joint efforts of the tech giant Huawei and the telecommunications operator China Unicom, as reported by pravilamag.ru with reference to Mydrivers.

The new network is based on the advanced 50G PON technology. During testing, an impressive data download speed of 9834 Mbps was recorded, with an upload speed of 1008 Mbps. This means a tenfold increase in bandwidth compared to conventional gigabit Internet. At the same time, the delay is stably maintained at only 3 milliseconds, which significantly exceeds existing standards.

Huawei and China Unicom believe that 10G technology will revolutionize users’ daily lives. The ultra-fast internet is expected to pave the way for bandwidth-intensive applications such as 8K video, cloud storage, and virtual and augmented reality.

One of the first users to access the new technology, Mr. Cao, shared his impressions: “It used to take several minutes to download a 4K movie, but now it takes only a few seconds. I was also very surprised that when using multiple smart devices at the same time, the home network worked smoothly, and 8K video, 4K screens, cloud video games, and smart home systems worked stably.”
