Turkmen racers will take part in the anniversary rally "Silk Way - 2025"

Three crews from Turkmenistan will take part in the 15th anniversary edition of the international "Silk Way - 2025" Rally Marathon , which will be held from July 12 to 22 in Russia and Mongolia.

The race will start on July 12 in Irkutsk and will end on July 22 in Gorno-Altaisk. The route is about 5 thousand kilometers long and will pass through the Irkutsk region, the Republic of Buryatia, the Republic of Altai and the territory of Mongolia. Participants will have 11 stages, including special stages with a total length of about 2,5 thousand kilometers.

In the T2 series SUV category, Turkmenistan will be represented by three crews in Nissan Patrol vehicles. The participants include the 2022 winners, brothers Merdan and Shohrat Toylyev (starting number 214). The crews of Maksatmyrat Danatarov and Didar Orazmedov (215) and Meylis Abdullayev and Italmaz Charyev (216) will also take to the start.

In total, about 100 crews from 15 countries will take part in the rally in the categories of trucks, SUVs, ATVs, motorcycles and quads.

The first edition of the "Silk Way Rally" took place in 2009 and connected Russia, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan along a single route.

"2025 is a special year for our project: this year will see the anniversary, fifteenth edition of the "Silk Way" International Rally Marathon," said Vladimir Chagin, project manager. "Since the first race, we have consistently followed the principles of cooperation, friendship and mutual respect. The "Silk Way" remains a major sports festival that unites athletes, organizers and spectators into one big and close-knit family."
