The US Treasury Department announced that President Donald Trump's signature will appear on $100 bills. The new notes commemorate the 250th anniversary of US independence.
According to the department, this will be the first time in history that a sitting president will sign American currency. Furthermore, for the first time in 165 years, the bills will not feature the Treasurer's signature. The rest of the design will remain the same.
Printing of the first bills bearing Trump's signature is scheduled for June 2026. The new bills are expected to enter circulation a few weeks after production begins.
