Google has added the ability to import data from other AI services to Gemini

Google has added a feature to the Gemini chatbot for importing chats and user settings from third-party AI services, including ChatGPT.

To import data, users need to go to Gemini's settings and select the import option. The service will offer a special prompt that users need to copy and send to the chatbot. After the chatbot generates a summary of the user's interests, preferences, and response style, the user needs to copy it and send it to Gemini.

Additionally, an archive of past conversations is available: users can download their chat history, save it in .zip format, and send it to Gemini, after which the conversations will appear in the service's interface.

According to Bloomberg, the new feature is aimed at attracting audiences from competing platforms—specifically, OpenAI's ChatGPT and Anthropic's Claude.
