Tank 300 Hi4-T and Hi4-Z declassified in China

Official information about two new hybrid versions of the Tank 300—the Hi4-T and Hi4-Z—has appeared in the database of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China (MIIT). Both versions feature significantly increased dimensions, a redesigned design, and significantly more powerful powertrains.

The new models measure 4886 mm in length, 1984 mm in width, and 1927 mm in height, with a wheelbase that has grown to 3010 mm (an increase of 260 mm over the current model). This makes the new Tank 300 even more spacious than the Tank 500, bringing its interior space closer to that of larger frame SUVs.

Externally, the cars retain the recognizable angular style, but feature a refreshed grille, a redesigned front bumper, and a large "TANK" lettering in place of the traditional logo. The rear end is distinguished by Hi4-T or Hi4-Z badges. Options include a panoramic sunroof, a roof rack, various grille and wheel designs, as well as an infrared camera and laser radar.

The base Hi4-T version is equipped with a 2,0-liter turbocharged engine and a single electric motor. The system output is 408 hp, and the 37,1 kWh battery provides up to 105 km of all-electric range (WLTC).

The top-of-the-line Hi4-Z model uses the same internal combustion engine, but with two electric motors. The combined output reaches 864 hp—almost twice that of the most powerful Toyota Land Cruiser 300. The battery has been increased to 59,6 kWh, providing up to 200 km of all-electric range.

The new versions are positioned as more versatile: the Hi4-T retains its focus on rugged off-road capability with mechanical all-wheel drive, while the Hi4-Z is designed for comfortable driving on asphalt and light off-road terrain while maintaining excellent cross-country capability. These vehicles are expected to debut in the Chinese market in the coming months.
