Two school teams will represent Turkmenistan in the regional stage of the FTC (FIRST Tech Challenge) robotics championship, which will be held in Astana from February 10 to 13, according to "Turkmenistan: Golden Age."
The Oguzrobot team included four students from Ashgabat Specialized Secondary School No. 97 with in-depth study of foreign languages – Aynagozel Keymirova, Oraznyyaz Rejepov, Nepesaly Tachmuradov and Nurali Kerimov, as well as a student from Ashgabat Specialized Secondary School No. 86 with in-depth study of English, chemistry and biology, Nazar Jumamuradov.
The Erjeller team will be represented by three students from Ashgabat Specialized Secondary School No. 97 with in-depth study of foreign languages – Durdyane Kurbanova, Arslan Babajiev, and Pirnazar Atayev, as well as students from Ashgabat Specialized Secondary School No. 86 with in-depth study of English, chemistry, and biology – Orazmuhammet Merdanov and Meylis Bayriev.
Turkmen participants underwent thorough preparation for this international competition at the capital's “Kämil bilim” training center.
The upcoming regional stage will feature 60 of the strongest teams, selected from over 400 applicants from across the region. The young roboticists' main goal is to place among the top three and earn a spot in the world finals, which will be held in Houston, USA.
FIRST Tech Challenge is the world's largest robotics competition, organized by the American organization First Global.
Over 70 thousand schoolchildren from over 100 countries participate in the championship annually. Participants complete complex tasks using autonomous robots they create.
Last year, schoolchildren from Turkmenistan participated in this championship for the first time and won the "International Success" award.
