Ronaldo is considering leaving “Al Nasr”

Cristiano Ronaldo may leave Saudi Arabian club “Al-Nassr” at the end of the current season, according to Portuguese publication Record.

The 40-year-old Portugal forward missed the Saudi Arabian Premier League match against “Al-Riyadh”, which ended in a 1-0 victory for his team. According to the publication, the reason for his possible departure is Ronaldo's dissatisfaction with the Saudi Arabian Sovereign Wealth Fund's (PIF) management of the club.

According to the source, the Portuguese believes the foundation is paying more attention to rival “Al-Hilal” and is deliberately hindering “Al-Nassr's” transfers, thereby hindering the team's championship contention. It was previously reported that Ronaldo opposed Karim Benzema's transfer to “Al-Hilal”, believing it would harm the competition.

The footballer believes he deserves more respect given his role in the development of football in Saudi Arabia. As such, Cristiano is considering returning to Europe or joining an MLS club.

The forward's contract with “Al-Nassr” includes a €50 million release clause. A final decision on his future could be made in June.
