On the night of December 4-5, residents of Earth will be able to observe the third supermoon of 2025. This astronomical phenomenon occurs when the full moon coincides with its closest approach to Earth in orbit, reports MIR24.
December also marks the peak of the Geminid meteor shower, the second most intense of the year. The Geminids traditionally attract the attention of astronomy enthusiasts due to the large number of meteors visible in the night sky.
Both events provide opportunities for astronomical observations in the first half of December.
