At the World Junior Kickboxing Championships (WAKO) that ended in Budapest, Turkmen athletes won five medals: one gold, one silver and three bronze. More than 3100 athletes from 69 countries took part in the competition. The Turkmenistan team was represented by 17 athletes, five of whom achieved success in various sections, reports “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”.
The gold medal in the “kick-light” section of the weight category up to 37 kg was won by Jasurbeg Ahmedov, having won four victories. The silver medal in the weight category up to 51 kg was received by Serdar Bekenov, having fought three fights. The bronze medalists were Ymamguly Rejepov, Salamathan Baltayev and Nepes Bashimov.
