Representatives of the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan took part in the 9th meeting of the heads of customs administrations of the member countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), reports “Azertaj”.
The meeting discussed the development of regional cooperation in the customs area, such as the exchange of information on offenses, mutual administrative assistance and the digitization of customs procedures.
The event was also attended by delegates from Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Türkiye and Uzbekistan.
ECO Deputy Secretary General Ambassador Syed Mohsen Esperi noted that the strengthening of cooperation between customs services contributes to the development of trade and economy in the region.
The participants of the meeting also considered the results of the implementation of the decisions taken at the previous meeting of the Council of Heads of Customs Services of the ECO.
