Russian citizens in Turkmenistan will be able to vote in the State Duma elections at five polling stations

The Russian Embassy in Turkmenistan has announced that Russian citizens residing in the country will be able to participate in the elections for deputies to the State Duma of the ninth convocation. Voting for Russian voters will take place on Sunday, September 20, from 8:00 to 20:00 local time, the diplomatic mission stated.

As noted in the statement, five polling stations will be open to Russian citizens across all of Turkmenistan’s velayats:

  • No. 8035 – Ashgabat, 11 Turkmenbashy Avenue (Embassy Department of Education, Science, and Culture);

  • No. 8291 – Turkmenbashy, 81a Magtymguly Avenue (Embassy consular section);

  • No. 8290 – Turkmenabat, 129A Bitarap Turkmenistan Street (Lebap velayat Cultural Center);

  • No. 8288 – Mary, 31 Watan Street (City Hakimlik building);

  • No. 8287 – Dashoguz, 9 10 Yyl Abadanlyk Street (City Hakimlik building).

To participate in the voting, Russian citizens must be at least 18 years old, appear in person at a polling station, and present a valid international passport, the statement notes.

Elections for deputies to the State Duma of the ninth convocation will be held in Russia from September 18 to 20, 2026. Ten parties are included on the federal ballot: United Russia, LDPR, the Party of Direct Democracy, the Greens, A Just Russia – For Truth, Rodina, the CPRF, the Party of Pensioners, Communists of Russia, and New People.
