Toyota Motor is preparing an update to the Land Cruiser J300 SUV for the Japanese market, scheduled for September 16. According to Creative Trend, citing its own sources, the upgrades will affect the model's powertrains.

The key innovation will be the introduction of a hybrid version, built on the technologies used in the Lexus LX700h. The system operates in parallel and combines a 3,5-liter V6 gasoline engine with a motor-generator mounted between the combustion engine and the 10-speed automatic transmission. In the Lexus LX700h, this powertrain produces 457 horsepower and 790 Nm of torque.

At the same time, the modification with a 3,4-liter turbocharged gasoline V6 engine with a power output of 415 hp and a torque of 650 Nm is planned to be removed from the lineup for the domestic Japanese market.

The diesel version, with a 3,3-liter turbocharged engine producing 304 hp and 700 Nm, will remain in the model lineup.

Official details on the updated Land Cruiser J300 for the Japanese market are expected in September.

In the Turkmen market, despite the gradual expansion of hybrid models in Toyota's lineup, consumers still prefer classic gasoline-powered SUVs. This is due to the familiar service infrastructure, the availability of spare parts, and the established demand for proven powertrains.
