Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has received an invitation to participate in the 2026 United Nations Water Conference, which will be held in the United Arab Emirates in December of this year, the UAE Embassy in Turkmenistan reported.

The invitation was extended to the head of Turkmenistan by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The UAE Ambassador to Ashgabat, Ahmed Al Hameli, presented the corresponding message to Turkmenistan's Deputy Foreign Minister Mahri Bashimova during the meeting.

The diplomatic mission's statement noted that the parties also discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in various areas.

The UN Water Conference aims to draw the attention of the international community to the problems of rational use and conservation of water resources.
