Young athletes from Turkmenistan took part in the Asian Youth Short Track Speed Skating Training Camp, which was held in Harbin, China. Organized by the Olympic Council of Asia jointly with the International Skating Union (ISU), the camp brought together young athletes and coaches from countries across the Asian region.
According to the online newspaper "Golden Age," Danatar Muhamov and Meryem Hudaykuliyeva participated in the training sessions under the guidance of the head coach of the Turkmenistan national short track team, Ayhanum Gulamalyev. The athletes were trained by ISU specialists, including renowned champions and medalists from international competitions. The program was aimed at improving technical skills and preparing them for future competitions.
The training camp was held within the framework of a program to develop winter sports in Asia and support young athletes. The training received is expected to help the athletes compete in upcoming major competitions, including the 2027 Children of Asia Games and the 2029 Asian Winter Games in Almaty.
Earlier in August, a similar figure skating camp concluded in Harbin, in which a group of young figure skaters from Turkmenistan also participated.
