Turkmen weightlifter Medina Amanova won a small bronze medal in the 69 kg weight class at the Asian U20 Championships. The competition is taking place in Tashkent.

The athlete placed third in the clean and jerk, lifting 121 kg. Her combined total of 205 kg placed her sixth overall.

The Asian Weightlifting Championships are taking place in the capital of Uzbekistan from August 13 to 14. More than 300 athletes from 29 countries across the region are participating in the tournament. The Turkmenistan team is represented by 16 athletes – seven boys and nine girls.
