Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Tehran, Ilyas Gayypov, participated in a conference dedicated to Caspian Sea Day, which was held yesterday at the Department of Environment of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, an exchange of views on pressing issues regarding environmental protection and the preservation of the Caspian Sea's ecological condition took place during the conference.

In his remarks, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan noted that issues related to the Caspian Sea occupy an important place on Turkmenistan's foreign policy agenda. The country consistently advocates for the development of international cooperation in the environmental protection of the Caspian Sea and the further strengthening of constructive interaction among the Caspian littoral states, including within the framework of the UN.

In this regard, particular attention was paid to the upcoming meeting of heads of state dedicated to environmental issues of the Caspian Sea, scheduled to be held on October 9, 2026, in the "Awaza" National Tourist Zone.
