Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with Vice-President of the Swiss Confederation, Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, and Chairman-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Ignazio Cassis. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The parties discussed current issues of developing cooperation between Turkmenistan and the OSCE, as well as strengthening interaction between Turkmenistan and the Swiss Confederation.

Stressing the importance of continuing the practice of holding high-level regional events in Ashgabat with the participation of OSCE leadership, the parties positively assessed the results of previously held joint events.

The parties also discussed the preparation of a number of joint events planned for the near future in Ashgabat, aimed at developing regional cooperation and sharing best practices.

At the end of the meeting, the Turkmen side confirmed its readiness for further close and constructive interaction with the Swiss Chairmanship of the OSCE, the Secretariat of the Organization, its institutions and the OSCE Center in Ashgabat, the source notes.
