According to “Turkmenistan: The Golden Age”, the Turkmen national team has won a total of nine medals: six gold and three silver.

The country was represented at the Olympiad by students from the Magtymguly Turkmen State University, the International University of Humanities and Development, the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas, the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management, the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction, the Seytnazar Seydi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute, and the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan.

The Olympiad is organized jointly by University College London (United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) and the American University (Bulgaria).

The competition was held in English over two rounds, in each of which participants were asked to solve five highly challenging problems.

This year, around 450 university students from 47 countries took part in the competition.
