Green University allocated six educational quotas to Turkmenistan

Mergen Kepbanov, Director of the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) Project Office in Turkmenistan, visited the Central Asian University of Environment and Climate Change (Green University) in Uzbekistan, where he held a working meeting with the university's Rector, Bakhtiyor Pulatov. The meeting was also attended by Nodirbek Rakhimjonov, Director of the CAREC Country Office in Uzbekistan.

The parties discussed prospects for cooperation in environmental education, training qualified personnel, and supporting Central Asian youth in sustainable development. Green University representatives introduced the guests to the university's educational programs and confirmed their commitment to developing partnerships with the CAREC project office in Turkmenistan.

Following the meeting, the CAREC project office in Turkmenistan was granted six educational quotas for Turkmen citizens—three for undergraduate programs and three for graduate programs.

Green University is the first specialized university in Central Asia dedicated entirely to training specialists in environmental protection, climate change, sustainable development, and the green economy. Instruction is provided in English.

The university's undergraduate programs include environmental and sustainable management, ecology and economics, and law and green economics. The master's program offers areas of study in sustainable development, environmental law, sustainable finance, the circular economy, and sustainable tourism. Students who pass the competitive selection process are awarded grants covering full tuition, dormitory accommodation, and a monthly stipend.

Mergen Kepbanov, Director of CAREC's Project Office in Turkmenistan, noted that developing cooperation with Green University opens up new opportunities for training specialists who will be able to contribute to addressing environmental and climate issues in Turkmenistan and the Central Asian region as a whole.
