Yesterday, Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio at the White House in Washington.

The two sides discussed the current state and prospects for developing Turkmen-American cooperation, noting with satisfaction the recent intensification of bilateral political and diplomatic dialogue, according to the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

Particular attention was paid to cooperation in the trade, economic, energy, and transport and communications sectors.

In this context, the parties emphasized the importance of expanding mutually beneficial partnerships, including on energy security and diversifying energy supply routes.

Cooperation in regional security, addressing contemporary challenges and threats, and interaction within multilateral formats, including the C5+1 platform, were also discussed.

The parties noted the significant potential for further development of bilateral cooperation and confirmed their mutual interest in continuing constructive dialogue in all areas of mutual interest, the source noted.
