Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a joint statement "On the Seven Foundations of Friendship and Good-Neighborliness between the Peoples of Russia and Kazakhstan," interfax.ru reports.

According to Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov, the document prioritizes the consistent strengthening of the entire range of bilateral cooperation.

According to the statement, the first pillar is a shared history and a responsible approach to its objective understanding in the spirit of friendship and good-neighborliness; the second pillar is joint efforts to develop Eurasian integration and create a space of cooperation, security, and dialogue in the region.

Other pillars include common borders as a space of good-neighborliness and cooperation, economic partnership, linguistic and cultural diversity as a shared heritage of traditional values, as well as youth, educational exchanges, and cooperation in sports. The seventh pillar is a shared vision for the future.
