Dubai Airport expects nearly 200 thousand passengers per day

Dubai International Airport (DXB) is preparing for peak traffic during the festive season. May 31 will be the busiest day: the airport expects to handle over 194,500 passengers, according to russianemirates.com.

The increase in passenger traffic is driven by the Eid al-Adha holidays, school holidays, and the Hajj season. Majid Al Joker, Chief Operating Officer of Dubai Airports, called this period one of the airport's key annual seasons. On May 23, over 67,000 passengers departed from DXB. The most popular destinations remain South Asia, Western and Eastern Europe, and the Gulf states, primarily Saudi Arabia.

To cope with the increased demand, the airport is implementing a comprehensive operational plan, oneDXB, in collaboration with government agencies, airlines, and partners. The plan includes intelligent passenger flow management systems, improved baggage handling systems, biometric technologies, and automated smart gates with facial recognition. Real-time queue monitoring systems, self-service check-in kiosks, and automated baggage drop-off points are also in place.

Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least four hours before departure, check in online in advance, and use the metro to avoid traffic jams.
