Representatives of the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan took part in the first meeting of the Regional Coordination Group of the Border Management Assistance Program in Central Asia (BOMCA-11), which took place on May 20 in Bishkek.

The meeting, organized with the assistance of the European Union, was devoted to analyzing current achievements and discussing plans to strengthen border security in the region, according to the website of the Turkmenistan Migration Service.

The event focused on modernizing the technical infrastructure of border control agencies and implementing advanced information technologies and new solutions. Participants discussed in detail steps to coordinate efforts to counter common cross-border and transit threats, as well as to improve the business environment.

Within the framework of the exchange of opinions, a separate session was devoted to the development of border communities and strengthening trust between neighboring states.

Following the meeting, an updated work plan aimed at deepening multilateral cooperation was considered.
