Turkmenistan reaffirmed its support for the "One China" policy and its recognition of the Chinese government as the sole legitimate representative of China. This was stated in a statement by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

“Turkmenistan reaffirms that the Government of the People’s Republic of China is the sole legitimate Government representing the whole of China, and Taiwan is an inalienable part of the territory of China.

Turkmenistan firmly adheres to the principled position regarding the "One China" policy, opposes any form of "Taiwan independence," supports the peaceful development of relations between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, and all efforts of the Government of the People's Republic of China to unify the country," the statement said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that Turkmenistan's foreign policy is carried out in strict accordance with international law and the UN Charter, one of the fundamental principles of which is respect for the territorial integrity of states.
