During a working visit to Bukhara, Speaker of the Parliament of Turkmenistan D. Gulmanova met with Chairperson of the National Parliament of the Republic of Azerbaijan S. Gafarova.
According to the website of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, the meeting noted the important role of interparliamentary cooperation in the rapidly developing interstate cooperation between the two friendly countries.
The Turkmen side noted that the peoples of the two countries are connected by ancient historical roots, cultural and spiritual communities, and that these relations, based on mutual respect, trust and equality, are currently successfully developing in all areas and are being enriched with new content.
The parties emphasized that cooperation in the international legal sphere between the two states plays an important role in the further development of large-scale, equal and mutually beneficial relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
An exchange of views also took place on the exchange of experience and close cooperation in legislative work within the framework of interparliamentary friendship groups in the future.
D. Gulmanova invited the Azerbaijani side to participate in international and interparliamentary events to be held in the Awaza National Tourist Zone within the framework of Turkmenistan's chairmanship of the CIS this year and the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asian Countries and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
