Turkmen athletes won 16 medals at the World Jiu-Jitsu Championships in Antalya

The Turkmenistan national team won 16 medals at the World Contact Jiu-Jitsu Championship (JJIF Combat Dünya Jujitsu Şampiyonası), which is being held in Kemer (Antalya Province), Türkiye. The Turkmen team won six gold, four silver, and six bronze medals. The tournament concludes on May 17.

Gold medals were won by: Zyba Orunova (up to 63 kg), Hakberdi Jumayev (up to 62 kg), Begli Saparov (up to 69 kg), Isa Arslanov (up to 77 kg), Rahmet Taganov (up to 69 kg) and Rahat Kurbanov (up to 85 kg).

The silver medalists were: Aminat Guvanjova (up to 45 kg), Khurma Abdyeva (up to 48 kg), Kurbanai Kurbanova (up to 52 kg) and Surai Gokgaeva (up to 57 kg).

Bronze medals were awarded to Aynur Kuliyeva (up to 45 kg), Ovezgeldy Hudayberdyev (up to 56 kg), Parahat Rahmanov (up to 62 kg), Islam Hemrayev (up to 77 kg), Agasapar Muhadov (up to 85 kg), and Velimyrat Nepesov (up to 85 kg).

The coaching staff of the Turkmenistan national team included Jelilmuhammet Hojamyradov and Kemal Meredov, and the head of the delegation, Ilyas Ishangulyev.

The World Contact Jiu-Jitsu Championship is being held in Türkiye for the first time. Around 350 athletes from 25 countries are participating. The tournament is held under the auspices of the International Jiu-Jitsu Federation (JJIF).
