The GAC-Toyota joint venture has begun sales of the new full-size electric sedan, the Toyota bZ7, in China. The model starts at approximately 130 000 yuan for the base model, while the top-of-the-line version will cost approximately 210 000 yuan, according to drom.ru.
Demand for the new model proved strong: GAC-Toyota recorded 3 100 pre-orders within the first hour of sales opening.
The Toyota bZ7 is a five-seat, rear-wheel-drive sedan. Its body length is 5.13 meters, and its wheelbase is 3.02 meters. The powertrain includes a 278-horsepower electric motor. Buyers can choose from two battery options: 71 kWh and 88 kWh.
The car is equipped with a sophisticated suite of driver assistance systems, including a lidar system, five high-frequency radar modules, 11 HD cameras, and 10 ultrasonic sensors.
The bZ7's design features a streamlined body style with a sloping roofline. The manufacturer emphasizes that despite its sporty proportions, the car offers spacious rear seating and a capacious trunk.
